Elementary & Middle School General Music

About the Department

The purpose of music at Providence Christian Academy is to engage students in the active making of music in order to praise God, relate to others in positive ways, and to enjoy and develop the gifts He has given.

General Music opportunities are available to elementary and middle school students both during and after the school day. Students have music class multiple times per week and learn through the Orff methodology. http://www.aosa.org

The Orff method engages students through singing, speaking, playing, and movement. In addition, extracurricular musical activities for elementary and middle school students include Chorus and Hosanna. Chorus allows students to develop their voices and Hosanna incorporates xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, drums, recorders, and assorted rhythm instruments.
