About the Department
The Band Program at Providence Christian Academy provides students with opportunities to learn and grow through playing an instrument, to express creativity, to be part of a close knit team, to learn leadership skills and put them into practice and to strive for excellence in all they do while praising God through music. Our program begins in 6th grade in beginning band and spans throughout high school with advancing skill levels and opportunities. Students in band may participate in Concert Bands, Percussion Ensembles, Drum Line, Pep Band, GMEA events including District Honor Band, Allstate Band, and Solo & Ensemble Festivals, UGA Honor Bands, and Band Trips. Academic courses are offered in Middle and High School including beginning, intermedicate and advanced bands, and beginning and advanced percussion ensemble. Advanced high school students seeking more advanced musical instruction may also take AP Music Theory.
